Airam, oriental song
Ernesto Elorduy, one of the great representatives of Mexican romanticism, undertook long journeys across Europe and Asia in the late nineteenth century. During this pilgrimage visited Turkey and got in contact with Arab rhythms and harmonies that inspired several pieces for piano that he composed. Undoubtedly, the most representative is Airam, a small evocative and sensual piece.
